Great Things

Verse 1

Come let us worship our King
Come let us bow at His feet
He has done great things
See what our Savior has done
See how His love overcomes
He has done great things
He has done great things

Chorus

O Hero of Heaven You conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain
O God You have done great things
We dance in Your freedom awake and alive
O Jesus our Savior Your name lifted high
O God You have done great things

Verse 2

You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore
You have done great things
And I know You will do it again
For Your promise is yes and amen
You will do great things
God You do great things

Bridge

Hallelujah God above it all
Hallelujah God unshakable
Hallelujah You have done great things
(REPEAT)
You’ve done great things

Ending

You have done great things
O God You do great things

April 3, 2022 discussion

For each season of life, God has a role for you to play in order to advance his Kingdom and to reflect his love and truth where we live, work, study, and play.

Discovering your role will lead to joy and effortless service. You will be fully satisfied because God is fully satisfied.

In the movie “Chariots of Fire” Eric Liddel said, “God made me fast. And when I run I feel his pleasure.” I think this is a good way to think about your role in a season of life. Eric used his gifting, personality, and passion to glorify God.

You have the opportunity to do the same.

Passions consist of causes, issues, or ministries. Passions energize and motivate you to act. They also anchor you when

the storms of life seem to overtake you and you want to quit the thing you love.

Gifts consist of specific actions that you “naturally do”. They are endowed by our Creator and given to you by the Spirit. You exhort, lead, administer, are merciful, faithful, wise, teach, shepherd, etc. These are things you like to do and do them without effort. Some call it “God- given talent”.

Personality consists how God uniquely created you and impacts how you relate with others. People often gravitate to opportunities and group of people because of their personality type. Understanding your personality will also help you learn how to effectively work and communicate with others.

Understanding your passion, personality and gifting will help you clarify your role in God’s Kingdom for this season of your life. This role will just “click” with you. As you work within your role, it will seem like you are not working. Peace and joy will be evident. People will state that you “glow” or “are happy”. This is a gift from God.

Roles will change throughout your lifetime because your passion may change, you may strengthen certain gifts, or God may have you operate from your personality weakness so that you must depend on him. Just be aware of the changing seasons of your life and adjust.

Also, notice how these work together: passions motivate, gifts compel, and personality pulls. If you didn’t have the motivation would you do it? Same with gifting or personality. All work together to glorify God, satisfy you, and edify others. - (c) THE GO CENTER, David Zook
