New days, new ways!

Every time DTPHX CHURCH meets, we want to be specific to the need of our call and contextual to our surroundings.  Today's expression is no different.  We want to preserve Fair Trade Cafe's relationship with those that share this common patio where we are today.

Our faith is not one that forces us to reside in a tradition like music or one teaching style in order to worship. In fact, Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 8, "But take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block".

In that context, I agreed to meet today without "the blaring music" and "projection up the side of the building" (how it was described to me).  ~Jim

John 3
16 For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. 17 Here’s the point. God didn't send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction.
18 No one who believes in Him has to fear condemnation, yet condemnation is already the reality for everyone who refuses to believe because they reject the name of the only Son of God. 19 Why does God allow for judgment and condemnation? Because the Light, sent from God, pierced through the world’s darkness to expose ill motives, hatred, gossip, greed, violence, and the like. Still some people preferred the darkness over the light because their actions were dark. 20 Some of humankind hated the light. They scampered hurriedly back into the darkness where vices thrive and wickedness flourishes. 21 Those who abandon deceit and embrace what is true, they will enter into the light where it will be clear that all their deeds come from God.

Whether you are a person of faith in Christ or not:
Question: John 3:16 is the most often repeated verse over the last 100 years.  Why do you think this verse gets so much attention?
Question: Do you picture your Heavenly Creator as a "God of Yes" or a "God of No"?  And have you always felt that way?
Question:  Can you recognize any time (s) in your life when you sensed there was a creator behind the creation? Or perhaps an element of your life that seemed to appear to be orchestrated by something beyond your own understanding?
